The Potting Shed in Brightling, East Sussex is the home of the ever more popular hand made toast racks, sensational pots and much more, of husband and wife team Gideon and Quelli Coles.

Says Quelli, 'From the first time I made an animal shape toast rack, the demand, and constant new designs I have been asked to make has been overwhelming. I have made standard items such as cats and farmyard animals, and special orders of sports cars and cricket bats.' Quelli has more recently been concentrating on various dog breeds, reproducing them authentically.

Husband Gideon who has worked for many years in Portuguese potteries throws wonderful Majolica pots, with personalised designs becoming more of a speciality. Says Gideon, 'I am asked more and more to produce large bowls for clients and personalise them, especially for the wedding market, it seems that clients find it difficult to find something for a present that is so personal and yet so affordable.
